Student Life at VCS:

Extra-curricular activities are events not directly related to

the classroom curriculum.

•   Academic Decathlon

•   Art

•   Clubs and Organizations

•   Drama

•   Fine and Performing Arts

•   Key Club

•   Music & Band

•   Mission Trips

•   National Honor Society

•   Pep Band

•   Praise & Worship

•   Student Council

Activities away from the normal classroom make up a vital part of the instructional program. Field trips, which tend to develop growth spiritually or academically, will be scheduled from time to time.  Students must submit the required permission forms from parents or guardians, and have an Emergency Medical Authorization form on file to participate in these experiences.  Related expenses, dates, times, and appropriate dress information will be given to parents for each activity.  Parents may be asked to help with activities, furnish transportation, and serve as chaperones.

Field Trips

Literacy week provides students in grades Kindergarten through 6, the opportunity to open their eyes to the wonderful world of books.  During the week, the Library sponsors a book sale, and classes dress up in their favorite book costumes.  The week ends on Saturday with hallways being transformed into character themes with teachers dressing up in costume and presenting a fun and educational presentation.  There is plenty of food, face painting, games, and a lot of fun.

Literacy Week

We strongly encourage learning opportunities that take place beyond our VCS campus. Throughout their time at VCS students will have the opportunity to experience field trips both within The Mahoning Valley and beyond. We offer several avenues for our students to go to the mission field, both here at home and abroad through various community services projects and short term trips.

A Campus without Borders

Co-curricular activities are events related to classroom subjects that normally occur outside of the classroom, and usually are related to competition with students from other schools, such as the Academic Decathlon and Pentathlon.  Students who qualify are encouraged to take part in co-curricular activities.

There is something

for everyone at VCS!

We encourage students to engage in one or more of the extra-curricular opportunities that we offer at here VCS.  It is our goal to help our students discover and cultivate that will enhance their student experience and create lasting friendship and wonderful memories!

Student Clubs & Organizations at VCS:

VCS offers a variety of student clubs and organizations that focus on a wide variety of interests. And the most wonderful thing is that if a club doesn’t currently exist, we will help develop the leadership skills within our students to begin one! Many of our clubs and organizations began with a student that has a passion for a particular area and decided to explore it further with their fellow students!

We strive to make academics fun at VCS!

In fact, we make it a sport! We offer a host of innovative academic activities your child can participate it in including the Academic

Decathlon and Academic Pentathlon.

We also offer the opportunity to be

named to The National Honor Society,

as well as a host of other academic

achievement recognition incentives

and programs.

Academic Excellence and Fun!

The Fine and Performing Arts

At we VCS, we highly regard our student’s

exposure to, as well as participation in the fine and performing arts. We offer a wide spectrum

of musical pursuits including; mastering a musical instrument, band, as well as leading praise and

worship during our chapel services.

We also have a full scale drama program, as well

as a progressive art department.
